HOW TO CHOOSE A CENTRAL VACUUM HOSE
One of the main elements of the central vacuum system is the hose. Look for a system with hoses in varying sizes to suit your needs. The Vacuflo system, for example, offers a variety of standard lengths including 30’ and 35’. The hoses should be constructed out of lightweight yet durable materials that minimize kinking while maximizing vacuum power and suction. For ease of use, there should be an on-off switch right on the handle, so all you have to do is attach the hose into the outlet and go. Better systems include a convenient wire hose rack with their hose, which allows you to loop the hose neatly for storage in a closet, pantry, or laundry room when not in use. A hose sock is highly recommended, and you can ask for the hose to be delivered with the hose sock already installed on it. This soft, flexible fabric hose will protect baseboards, woodwork and furniture from scuffs and marks as you move it around the house. For the ultimate in convenience and efficient use of space, Vacuflo offers Hide-A-Hose, a central vacuum system that contains the hose inside the wall. Just open the small panel that holds the hose and attachment, pull it out from the wall, and sweep. The hose easily retracts back into the wall when you are finished.
