THREE EASY CHORES THAT SAVE YOU MONEY

Three Easy Chores That Save You Money Some simple household tasks that do more for your home than make it look nice and feel better—they actually save you money, too:

  1. Vacuum the coils of your refrigerator at least twice a year, more often if you have pets. Removing dust, dirt and pet hairs that collect on the coils will help your refrigerator run more efficiently and reduce your energy bill. On some refrigerators, the coils are on the back side; just roll the refrigerator out and vacuum with a small brush attachment. Other refrigerator designs make coil cleaning trickier because the coils are underneath the refrigerator. Long-handled brushes will capture some of the dust and dirt, but for truly effective cleaning, you’ll need a special tool that attaches to a central vacuum system hose. Vacuflo manufactures the Wonder Wand, a nifty attachment that extends up to 36” and is only ½” thick to fit in super-tight spots. An attached magnet strip on the cleaning tip also allows easy pick-up of metal objects. Learn more here.

  2. Vacuum your carpets frequently. Even if you can’t see visible dirt on your rugs, it’s in there, grinding away at the fibers and backing. This shortens the life of your carpet, requiring more frequent replacement. Carpeting and rugs are no small investment, especially when it’s high quality. Protect your investment with routine maintenance.

  3. Vacuum your tile, wood and vinyl floors frequently. The same thing applies to bare floors. Tiny particles of grit and dirt can mar the surface of floors and wear down their finish faster. Vacuflo makes attachments especially designed for bare floors, protecting them and cleaning them simultaneously. Learn more here.

Hold on there, you might be saying. Since when is vacuuming easy? All that lugging around, banging into furniture, hauling a heavy vacuum cleaner up and down steps?

Maybe you’re still using a traditional vacuum cleaner. If so, you’re absolutely right: vacuuming is NOT an easy chore. But if you install a central vacuum system, you’ll never look at vacuuming the same way. It’s quiet, lightweight, easy on the back, and it’s much more effective at cleaning virtually all the dirt and irritating airborne particulates from your home. Plus, it can be retrofitted in almost any house in about a day. Want to make vacuuming less of a chore? Learn more here.
